County Hall Office
Tipping Street, Stafford
Approved Design certified the completed office development in September 2011.
Completed on programme by developer Stoford and contractor Volker-Fitzpatrick. The development brings a new focal point for county council services. It is a base for 1700 staff from 170 teams, moving from 18 outdated buildings across the county. The savings made on existing building maintenance totals £43million over the next 30 years.
Utilising biomass boilers to satisfy heating demand the building will cut the local authorities carbon emissions by 1750 tonnes per year (comparable to 50 household emissions).
County Councillor Mark Winnington, Cabinet Member from Assets, Performance and Organisation, said : “ It is really quite exciting to see this future Stafford landmark taking shape, the flagship (Tipping Street) development will be a real asset to the residents of Stafford and the wider area. This is part of the county councils 100% commitment to the local economy – we want to see Staffordshire thriving”
